2020 BTS UN연설 두번째_ 영어해석(Life goes on! Let's live on!!)

안녕하세요:)

요즘 한창 2018년도 BTS UN 연설문으로 영어쉐도잉을 하고 있는데,

얼마 전에 두번째 연설을 했다는 기사가 나왔더라구요.

왠지 반가워서 한번 들어봤는데,, 역시나 감동이 밀려옵니다.😭

감사합니다.

 

Representatives of the members states of Group of Friends of Solidarity for Global Health Security, UNICEF Executive Director, Excellencies and distinguished guests from all around the world.

이 자리에 초대해주신 유엔 관계자들과 유니세프 총재님 그리고 함께 해주시는 모든 분들께 감사드립니다.

 

It is a great honour for us to have this valuable opportunity to speak in a session in the 75th UN General Assembly.

제75회 유엔 총회를 통해 이렇게 다시 한번 메시지를 전하는 소중한 기회를 갖게 되어 정말 영광입니다.

 

My name is RM, the leader of the group BTS.

저는 방탄소년단의 리더 RM입니다.

Two years ago here, I asked your name.

2년 전 저는 당신의 이름을 물어보았고,

I urged you to let me hear your voice.

당신의 목소리를 들려 달라고 요청했습니다.

 

And I let myself be filled with imagination.

그러면서 많은 것을 상상했습니다.

As a boy from the small city of Ilsan in Korea, as a young man standing at the UNGA, as a global citizen of this world,

대한민국의 작은 도시 일산의 소년이자, 유엔 총회에 참석해 서 있는 한 젊은이, 그리고 세상을 살아가는 세계 시민으로

I imagined the limitless possibilities before all of us, and my heart beating with excitement.

나와 우리앞에 놓인 무한한 가능성을 가슴 뛰게 상상했습니다.

 

But COVID-19 was beyond my imagination.

그러나 그 상상 속에 코로나19는 없었습니다.

Our world tour was totally canceled, all our plans went away, and I became alone.

월드투어가 취소되고, 모든 계획이 틀어지고, 저는 혼자가 되었습니다.

I looked up but couldn’t see the stars at night.

밤하늘을 올려다보아도 별이 보이지 않았습니다.

When I start feeling lost,

막막할 때마다 저는

I remember my face in the window, like Jung Kook said.

정국이의 말처럼 유리창에 비친 저의 얼굴을 떠올립니다.

I remember the words I spoke here two years ago.

그리고 2년전 제가 이 자리에서 했던 말을 떠올립니다.

 

“Love yourself, speak yourself”

 

Now more than ever, we must try to remember who we are, and face who we are.

지금이야말로 우리가 스스로의 얼굴을 잊지 않고, 마주해야 하는 때 입니다.

 

We must try to love ourselves, and imagine the future.

필사적으로 자신을 사랑하고, 미래를 상상하려 노력했으면 합니다.

BTS will be there with you.

방탄소년단이 함께 하겠습니다.

 

Our tomorrow may be dark, painful, difficult.

우리의 내일은 어둡고, 괴롭고, 힘들지 모릅니다.

We might stumble of fall down.

우리는 걷다가 넘어지고 엎어질지도 모릅니다.

But the stars shine brightest when the night is darkest.

그러나 밤이 깊을수록 별빛은 더 빛납니다.

 

If the stars are hidden, we’ll let moonlight guide us.

같이 가는 이 길에, 별이 보이지 않는다면 달빛에 의지하고,

If even the moon is dark, let our faces be the light that helps us find our way.

달빛마저 없다면, 서로의 얼굴을 불빛 삼아 나아가 봅시다.

Let’s reimagine our world. We’re huddled together tired, but let’s dream again.

그리고 다시 상상해 봅시다. 힘들고 지친 우리가 또다시 꿈꿀 수 있기를

Let’s dream about a future when our worlds can break out of our small rooms again.

좁아졌던 나의 세상이 다시 드넓게 펼쳐지는 미래를

 

It might feel like it’s always night and we’ll always be alone,

언제나 깜깜한 밤이고 혼자인 것 같겠지만

But the night is always the darkest before the first light of dawn.

내일의 해가 뜨기전 새벽이 가장 어둡습니다.

 

Life goes on.

삶은 계속될 것입니다.

Let’s live on.!!!!
